Spies takes Seventh and Helps Future Team Member Take Fifth Place in Championship
Motorbike insurance from The Bike Insurer On November 8, Ben Spies who was recently crowned as the World Superbike Champion moved forward in his motorcycling career as he took seventh place in the MotoGp finale in Spain. The Moto GP finale was held at the Valencia Circuit and was witnessed by 94,000 onlookers who were in attendance for this early November race. The race was Spies best finish in the dry Moto GP realm, and also assisted his future team member Colin Edwards, who also is from Texas, to achieve fifth place in the final Moto Gp ratings . In Sunday’s race, Ben started off cautiously, but he improved as the race progressed. From the ninth spot on the grid at the start, Spies went back all the way to twelfth place before he begin a comeback. During the middle part of the race, Spies stated that his comfort level increased so he begin pushing a little more. Ben’s middle-to late race effort led him past Melandri on the tenth lap, Kallio on the 17th, de Angelis on the 18th, and Dovizioso to put him in seventh place. Overall, Spies seemed to be happy with the outcome of the race at Valencia. This race at Valencia was his opening MotoGp race with Yamaha. Spies stated that he found the performance ability of the Yamaha M1 impressive; he also stated that he was amazed at what a rider could do with the bike.
